1. Who does it apply to and what does it cover?

This privacy statement applies to the company AJL AGRO LDA, headquartered at Rua do Prazo n. 9, Aldeias de Cima 5110-021, Armamar, Portugal.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information openly and transparently.

This privacy statement identifies how we collect, handle, store and protect your personal data when:

  • we are providing services to you or our customers;

  • use “our website”; or

  • performs any other actions within the scope of our activity, as described below.

When we refer to "our website" or "this website" in this policy, we are referring to specific pages of ajlagro.com  and to specific pages with a URL beginning with http://wwww.ajlagro .with.

Through this privacy statement we also inform you about when we share your personal data with third parties (for example, our suppliers).

Within the scope of this privacy statement, your information may be referred to as “personal information” or “personal data”. We may sometimes refer to the simultaneous handling, collection, protection and retention of your personal data as “processing” of that personal information.

We understand the importance of protecting children's privacy. Our website and our services are not intended or intentionally directed at children. It is our policy not to intentionally process children's personal data.

We use your personal data to provide services to you or our customers. For this reason, we may use your personal data in the course of correspondence exchanged within the scope of the services. For the purposes set out in the “How do we treat your personal data?” section, we may disclose details about you to: other members of AJL ARO LDA; third parties that provide services to us and/or entities of AJL AGRO LDA; competent authorities (including courts and regulators); employer and/or advisors; advisors; or other entities that require access to personal data relating to you.

Our website hosts various blogs, forums, wikis and other social networking applications or services that allow you to share content with other users (collectively, “Social Networking Applications”). It is important to note that any personal information contributed to these Social Media Applications may be read, collected and used by other users of the application. As we do not control these other users, we cannot guarantee that your contribution to these applications of any personal information will be treated in accordance with this privacy statement.

Some of the aforementioned recipients of your personal data may be located in third countries whose laws may not offer the same level of data protection. In such cases, we will ensure that adequate safeguards are in place to protect your personal data in line with our legal obligations. Whenever the recipient of the data is not AJL AGRO LDA, a data transfer agreement will be concluded with the recipient, based on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission for transfers of personal data to third countries.
